A Taste of the Moon closes with a nice question about how perspective affects our view of the world and the way we interact with it.
Michael Grejniec (1955–) was born in Poland. Working as an illustrator in Europe, he produced posters for theater, film, and anime before becoming a picture-book author. In 1985 he moved to the United States. In 1996 he won the Japan Picture Book Award for Translation for A Taste of the Moon (tr. 2013). His other titles include Niji-iro no hana (Rainbow-Colored Flowers), Fiabo: Ohanashi no suki na makka na sakana (Fiabo: the Bright Red Fish Who Loved Stories),Koneko kyū-hiki gūgūgū (Nine Sleeping Kittycats), and many others.
